About twice as much salt as recommended – namely, between nine and ten grams of – each of German per day. As healthy is, however, considered only a salt intake of about five grams daily. The problem is that we know many of the foods exactly how much salt they contain: for example, we put on the finished pizzas and soups, but also on bread and sausage, larger amounts of salt.

Too high of a salt intake can have a negative impact on our blood pressure and this can lead to damage to the kidneys. Also, the risk of stroke is increased according to studies by an increased salt consumption. Entirely, you should avoid the consumption of salt, but in any case, finally, salt water and nutrient balance of the body is essential.
